Museum Poster Series

This project is based on Darcy Padilla’s photographic series called The Julie Project. The International Photography Awards described the original project as "the story of the life and death of Julie Baird spanning 18 years starting with a chance encounter in 1993, and providing an in-depth look at poverty, AIDS, and social issues affecting American Society."

I was tasked with making poster designs to convey the narrative
and the spirit of this series. The text content was provided to me and had to be displayed in three different ways to emphasize either illustration, photography, or typography.

Streamer Rebrand

As a small passion project, I created a rebrand for the Twitch streamer, Caseoh. The American gamer is a big personality with playful sensibilities. I hoped to convey this through my bold typography and color choices. This brand board includes a fresh logotype and submark, as well as typography examples, color choices, and product mockups.

Music Artist Rebrand

This project is a rebrand of the visual identity of the artist Hozier. This new visual identity was formed with the following positioning statement in mind:

"The visual identity of Hozier should appeal to the viewer in a poetic, intimate way, encouraging contemplation and reflection, including elements of nature and religious iconography to communicate the spirit and message of his music."

This brand board includes a revamped logotype and submark, as well as typography examples, color choices, album covers, and Instagram post mockups. â€‹

The design package contains a billboard design, four static Instagram posts, two moving graphics, and a website for a client. The client requested myself and others to conduct independent research and surveys on helmet use among individuals aged 17 to 25 while using micro-mobility devices, such as e-scooters. We were to formulate a design that took insight from this research and best appealed to their target audience.  Research showed that inconvenience was one of the main factors preventing the target audience from wearing helmets on these devices. I took a design approach that centered a sense of ease and playfulness to counteract this factor and encourage positive behavior change. Further, I utilized cartoon action lines and vibrant colors reminiscent of the cartoons many of the target audience– who I would count myself among– would be familiar with, driving effortless connection with the designs. Designed with Figma, Adobe Illustrator, and Photoshop.

Book Typesetting

For this project, I designed, typeset, and produced a printed book based on An Essay on Typography by Eric Gill. The project required the use of grid systems. The entire work included a half title, title page, copyright page, table of contents, the full text, and colophon. Further, it required the delineation of a typographic hierarchy, distinguishing the following elements: chapter titles, running heads, folios, captions, and body text.

Feminist Magazine Editorial Design

For this project, I was a part of a team that revamped a now defunct, feminist magazine, Off Our Backs, that emphasized editorial identity, typographic systems and structures, and editorial flow. We made the collective decision to frame the content of the magazine in a bold, edgy, and alternative representation. Presented is my section, a piece on the crisis in Sudan, centering women’s experiences and their stories.
